The Berlin startup zenloop was founded in 2016 by Flaconi founders Paul Schwarzenholz and Björn Kolbmüller. zenloop is a SaaS solution for feedback management. Now the new company figures are available – specifically the annual financial statements for the fiscal year 2021. They show an annual deficit of about 3.8 million euros – up from 2.8 million the previous year. By the end of 2021, the setup of the company already cost 11.3 million euros.
In zenloop, signals Venture Capital and the two existing investors Piton Capital and Nauta Capital invested 6.1 million euros in the summer of 2020. More than 12 million euros have already been invested in the young Berlin company.
Signals Venture Capital holds about 13.4% of the company. Piton Capital has about 5.1% stake and Nauta Capital with 21.2%. The two zenloop founders Schwarzenholz and Kolbmüller each have 22.5% in their company.
About 44 employees worked for zenloop in 2021. The previous year there were 38 and in 2019 there were 35. There were only 12 employees in 2018.
Currently, the company states on its website that it has more than 60 employees in Berlin. zenloop has thus been able to take off well so far, and it seems to have also fared well through the Corona crisis. The company will certainly need more capital for further loss-making years.
