The most famous 'groupie' of the 1970s is getting her own documentary! Bebe Buell was a mainstay of the rock 'n' roll scene in the 1970s and was involved with musicians like Mick Jagger, Rod Stewart, Elvis Costello, David Bowie, and Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler. This documentary will undoubtedly cover these iconic relationships along with the other highs and lows of Buell's reign in the 1970s.
The documentary about Buell's life is set to be filmed in January 2022 in New York and Nashville, where Buell lives. The idea for a documentary emerged during the COVID-19 pandemic. According to Buell himself, 'I took some time during the Covid break to reflect on my life and all the amazing memories I've made, and the people I've met. I also thought about those we've lost recently and how many of their true experiences will never be shared. I realized that it'snow time to tell the true story of my life, including the things I've never spoken about before.' City Drive Studios, led by Daniel Catullo, will produce the new documentary. This is the same company that produced the Emmy-winning documentary The Square. There is currently no release date for the documentary.

In a Rolling Stone interview, Buell recalled how she shot her centerfold at the Playboy Mansion in Chicago and played Monopoly with Hugh Hefner. During this game, the couple made a bet. It was about Bebe getting $10,000 if she beat Hefner instead of the usual $5,000 each Playmate received. The couple became known as 'rock royalty' and were often compared toother famous romantic couples, including Angie and David Bowie.
In 1976, Buell had a brief affair with singer Steven Tyler, which led to an unplanned pregnancy. This affair happened while Todd Rundgren and Bebe were on a break. However, the couple reconciled soon and Bebe gave birth to their daughter Liv Tyler on July 1, 1977. Although Rundgren and Buell eventually separated in 1978, Bebe's daughter Liv thought until she went to middle school that Todd Rundgren was her father. Buell decided to keep the true paternity of Liv's father secret due to Steven Tyler's drug problems at the time of:keeping the birth of their daughter a secret.
