Description:

The PS 3000 HV is an additional high-performance power supply and was specifically developed for the power amplifier A 3000 HV and the integrated amplifier PA 3100 HV. These deliver over 500 watts of power at 4 ohms at such a high sound and performance level that merely increasing the output power, and thus the voltage, no longer brings significant sound improvements. Our research and development work on high-performance amplifiers like the M 10 or S 10 and the resulting development of the HV concept have clearly shownthat the stability of the voltage and current supply through a power supply is of crucial and greater importance for the sound quality of an amplifier. We have drawn the right conclusions from this and developed an external, additional power supply.

The concept is brilliant and works as follows: When the PS 3000 HV is connected via the special power link cable with M-23 high current connectors, the internal power supply of the A 3000 HV/PA 3100 HV takes over the supply of the input stages and the high voltage amplifier. There, significantly less power is converted, and consequently, significantly fewer disturbances occur in the A 3000 HV itself. The external PS 3000 HV then provides the supply for the output stages and thus the large currents for the power output stages.The PS 3000 HV is significantly stronger with 1200 VA than the power supply of the A 3000 HV and also has double the filter capacitance. This significantly improves the current delivery capability and stability of the overall system.
