The guitars and basses of the Standard series feature a poplar body and a bolt-on maple neck with a Modern C profile. Depending on the model, the fingerboards are made of maple (MN) or Indian laurel (LRL), with a radius of 9.5 inches and 21 medium-jumbo frets. The scale length is typically 25.5 inches for guitars and 34 inches for basses.
In terms of electronics, the Telecaster models are equipped with two standard single-coil pickups, while the Stratocaster models offer either three single-coils or an HSS configuration (humbucker in the bridge position). The decision to manufacture the Standard series in Indonesia allows Fender to reduce production costs and thus offer the instruments at a more attractive price.
