Without a second thought, the latest SP2000 flagship is A&K best DAP to date. And why wouldn’t it be? They finetuned and perfected the sound and updated some of the features from their previous flagship which was already at the top of its game. The internal storage is doubled to 512GB, the support of lossless hi-res formats went up to 32bit/786kHz and DSD512, more streaming apps supported, new flagship AK4499 DAC is implemented, the output power is increased, and even the SNR performance is improved. So, when it comes to choosing betweenSP1000 and SP2000, it’s a no-brainer which one to get, especially since the price is the same. And, you can’t complain anymore about A&K being the most expensive DAP because in the last few years a number of other flagship releases from competitors caught up and even surpassed A&K in price.

This design delivers much more than ever before with 6Vrms for the balanced and 3Vrms for the unbalanced output. With this design, the A&ultima SP2000 offers the ultimate sound experience as Astell & Kern's latest flagship player.

The latest Asahi Kasei DAC chips, Dual AK4499EQ

The AK4499EQ DAC chip uses the latest 'Current Output Architecture' technology. To fully take advantage of this new architecture, Astell & Kern has completely revised and redesigned the op-amp and analog amplifier block configuration. The new circuit design optimizes power consumption and gets the best out of the new DAC chips. The combination of the A&ultima SP2000 with the AK4499EQ chips offers stunning sound quality.

32bit/768kHz, native DSD22.4MHz support

SP2000 is the first Astell & Kern model that supports 32 bit/768 kHz and DSD512 (22.4MHz) playback natively without compression or loss.

Double internal storage (512GB)

As CD ripping and offline storage become more popular, the A&ultima SP2000 offers double the storage space compared to the SP1000. 512GB internal storage can hold up to 700+ CDs or 8,000+ tracks in FLAC file format (60MB/track).
