The Yamaha Silent Guitar is a technically sophisticated solid-body guitar that produces a remarkably authentic concert guitar sound. This is achieved through high-quality construction and an innovative pickup system with versatile functions. The sound can also be played through headphones, making the guitar perfect for practicing. Thanks to the detachable frame, the Yamaha SLG200 NW Natural is also easy to transport and thus the ideal companion on the go. The flat neck, combined with thegenerous cutaway, allows for effortless playing in all 19 frets and provides enough space for complex chords and solos. Additionally, the precisely tuned hardware ensures excellent intonation over the entire scale length of 650 mm. The silent guitar practically comes with a bag and in-ear headphones.
Construction and Woods
The slim body of the Yamaha SLG200 NW Natural is made of mahogany, which provides special stability. The frame is made of maple and rosewood and is secured with two screws that also serve as strap pins. The mahogany neck is equipped with a rosewood fretboard that rests on the body from the 12th fret. The generous cutaway in the lower fixed frame is also made of high-quality mahogany.
Hardware
The compensated bridge insert and the 52 mm wide saddle made of urea ensure precise sound development in all pitch ranges. The classic Yamaha tuning machines allow for effortless tuning of the six nylon strings, which are easily threaded through the rosewood bridge and can therefore be replaced without any hassle. A black pickguard on the body rounds off the instrument's functionality.
Electronics
The heart of the guitar is the versatile SRT-Powered pickup system. It combines a piezo element under the bridge insert with a microphone simulation that can be mixed in via a blend control. This makes it possible to reproduce the sound of an acoustic western guitar in detail, even without its own resonating body. A 2-band equalizer allows for individual adjustment of the bass and treble frequencies of the output signal. The system is powered by two AA batteries.
